Erin Lee is a Wellington, Colorado mother and self-described former Democrat who became a parental-rights activist after her 12-year-old daughter was, per the family's lawsuit, drawn into a middle-school Gender & Sexuality Alliance meeting presented as an 'art club' where transition topics were discussed without the parents' knowledge. She founded Protect Kids Colorado and led a grassroots effort that collected over 500,000 signatures with 3,300+ volunteers to place three 2026 measures on Colorado's ballot. Its centerpiece, Initiative 109 (Protect Women and Girls Sports Act), qualified for the November 2026 ballot and would require school and college sports teams to be designated by biological sex.
