Restricting medical gender transition for minors and stronger informed-consent safeguards, based on her own detransition.
Chloe Cole is one of the most prominent detransitioner activists in the U.S. She was medically transitioned as a minor — puberty blockers, testosterone, and a double mastectomy between roughly ages 12 and 16 — then detransitioned and became a full-time speaker against pediatric medical transition. She testified before the U.S. House Judiciary Subcommittee on the Constitution in July 2023, and a proposed federal 'Chloe Cole Act' is named for her. She is the plaintiff in an active malpractice-and-fraud suit against Kaiser, with trial set for April 2027.
The strongest case
Her lived experience raises legitimate questions about informed consent, diagnostic gatekeeping, and the evidence base for irreversible pediatric interventions; detransition and regret cases deserve serious clinical study rather than dismissal.

Documented detransition rates are low, and critics say her single, contested case is generalized into blanket bans that would deny beneficial care to many others; her advocacy is funded and amplified by conservative legal and political groups, and her allegations have not yet been tested at trial.
